December 3, 2010: E Minor Southampton branch has a new home!

The Southampton branch of the E Minor Pop Academy has moved to it’s spectacular new home at the amazing new River Studios – the largest private music studio in the area.

It’s an incredible building that houses Recording Studios, the best Rehearsal studios for miles, voice and music teaching facilities and a fabulous purpose built Dance Studio, with a proper sprung floor with a full mirrored wall. It’s this new Dance studio where you’ll find E Minor Southampton every Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

It’s at 32 Winsor Road, Totton, Southampton, Hants, SO40 9HQ and it’s new website will be complete soon at http://www.riverstudios.co.uk

December 8, 2008: British Soul & R&B singer ‘Lemar’ signs E Minor Pop Academy member

Lemar Obika, one of Britain’s finest Soul singers has just signed ‘Effie’, an ex pupil of The E Minor Pop Academy. Effie started out several years ago in the Salisbury branch, and it was clear from the start that she had an unbelievable talent. Having taken many leads in live concerts, Effie, along with several other members of the Academy decided to enter a singing competition in Southampton, where Lemar was to be one of the judges.

This is what he said…”My first experience of the E Minor Pop Academy was at a vocal competition in Southampton, where 4 out of the 5 competition winners turned out to be E Minor Pop Academy members. That got my attention! One of them ‘Effie’, impressed me so much that I signed her to my management company Pyramid Entertainment. The vocal and choreographic experience that she gained in the Academy, has prepared her superbly for a career in pop music that we have planned for her. Watch this space!”
